Lachen: Lachen is a beautiful village situated at an altitude of around 9,000 feet. It serves as the base for exploring Gurudongmar Lake and Chopta Valley. Lachen Monastery and the village's serene ambiance are also worth experiencing.
Gurudongmar Lake: Located at an altitude of about 17,100 feet, Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world. The lake is considered sacred by both Buddhists and Sikhs and offers breathtaking views. Please note that due to high altitude, visitors may experience altitude sickness, and permits are required to visit the lake.
Lachung: Lachung is another charming village in North Sikkim, known for its natural beauty and apple orchards. Yumthang Valley, often referred to as the "Valley of Flowers," is a must-visit attraction in Lachung, especially during the spring season when it comes alive with colorful blooms. The Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary and the Lachung Monastery are also popular places to explore.
