the story so far

We traveled around the region, getting our hands (and feet) dirty on the roofs of wooden boats that crossed the powerful Bramhaputra, from steep climbs near the Indo-Bhutan order to the high hills of Arunachal to the severe heat of the islands of Majuli. We talked about how tourism can benefit the people while we cooked and ate with them and got to know them. From the Assamese planters to the (former) head-hunters of Nagaland, from one thriving state capital to another, and from one tribal community to another. We thus established a network of people who are the greatest local experts - those who understand the customs, culture, and history of the area, and who can predict the arrival of rain by observing the sky (instead of searching up the weather online).

Explore Beyond was conceived and registered as a partnershp firm in the suburban Kolkata and in 2020 we officially registered and started operations from Gangtok, Sikkim.
